About

My name is Taylor. These characters are real people, and the stories actually happened. The stories range from childhood memories to contemplative discussions about the proper use of Fla-vor-ice Popsicles. I even throw in my own current events, the happy and the hard. My Pleonastic Life is all about “bringing the funny.” If you can’t do that (yet), the story is not worth sharing.

Can I contact you?

Absolutely! Email me here: mypleonasticlife {at} gmail {dot} com

What the heck does the name mean?

Fact: A pleonasm is “the use of more words than are necessary to express an idea” (Thanks, dictionary.com!) Therefore a pleonastic life is one that uses way too many words just to tell life’s every day stories. That’s why the name is what it is.

Can I use your pictures?

Yes. If you repost them please provide a link back to the blog, and PLEASE feel free to use them as profile pics.

What do you do with all the rest of your time?

I am a Linguist, and I am currently working on my PhD. So I teach people things and learn things. All the time. No matter what.

Whoa, hold it, this looks like a big rip off of Hyperbole and a Half. What gives?

THANK YOU! For the art critics in the room, you’ll notice she uses many more colors and like… actual artistic talent. I absolutely adore the f-bomb and Hyperbole and a Half! But I am not Allie, nor did I wish to be when I set out writing. I want to tell stories always veering towards the cute rather than the spunky. You won’t find any language here that wouldn’t be appropriate for work, school, or your family.
